DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
SIMONA is committed to promoting diversity and variety within the company. One focus is on increasing the proportion of women in management positions and technical professions, for example through mandatory job interviews with women for such positions.
We support intercultural exchange within the company through various measures. For example, our managers are assigned to our Leadership Circle, which prepares high-potential employees for specialist and management tasks on the basis of various modules.

GOOD CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
SIMONA is a proud member of“Charta der Vielfalt e.V.”. It stands for an open and diverse society and reflects our firm belief that the multifaceted backgrounds, skills and viewpoints of our employees represent a source of strength and innovation. We want to further promote diversity and provide an inclusive working environment.
We are committed to combating discrimination in all its forms and ensuring that our company, irrespective of location and professional grouping, is a place in which everyone enjoys equal opportunities and is valued on the same terms – regardless of gender, origin, age, sexual orientation or physical ability.”
Our actions as a company inevitably have an impact on our environment. Accordingly, it is imperative that we act responsibly in every area.
Looking to the future, we have a clear vision of a sustainable and responsible corporate culture that takes into account both environmental and social matters as well as aspects of good corporate governance.
Far from being an empty phrase, sustainability is a central component of our identity. We support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and are guided by them.
Together, we want to work to protect our planet, use resources responsibly, promote social justice and prevent all forms of corruption.
This conviction is expressed not least in the SIMONA sustainability policy (PDF).

In support of our employees and our region
As a company, we take responsibility: for our employees and for our region.
Appreciation Week is held every year at all three of SIMONA’s US sites. The rationale behind this event is to acknowledge employees for their hard work throughout the year. The week features tournaments, games, food trucks, music and awards. The aim is to highlight the company’s appreciation of each individual employee and their commitment to the company.
The SIMONA Family Day in Kirn is an event organised by employees for employees and their families. Last year, over 1,300 employees and retirees from the German sites gathered in Kirn with their families. The festival offered a wide range of attractions, tours of the plant as well as food and refreshments. Among the special highlights were demonstrations of the new order picking system at the central warehouse, insights into product processing at the Technology Centre and in various areas of production, in addition to a behind-the-scenes look at the training workshop and maintenance department. The successful concept of giving families an insight into SIMONA’s products and areas of work has now also been adopted at other SIMONA sites.
Â
The Kirner Land Association of Municipalities, which covers the region in which SIMONA is headquartered, organises a Volunteer Day, as part of which interested parties are given the opportunity to volunteer for a good cause. The SIMONA team actively contributed to 14 of the 29 volunteer projects. SIMONA also provided financial support for the projects. Among other things, the projects involved beautifying village squares and school playgrounds, erecting stork nesting aids, cleaning wetland biotopes, riverbanks and streams, redesigning gardens and cleaning up playgrounds.

SIMONA implements various measures to promote employee satisfaction: Recurring global employee surveys provide feedback and enable the company to respond to employee needs.
The findings of the surveys are used to identify individual improvement measures for each department and define specific targets. The implementation of these targets is enshrined in the company’s target agreement system; their achievement is regularly reviewed.
Special seminars such as “Promoting health through appreciation” aim to raise awareness of the importance of appreciation in the workplace, the aim being to improve employee satisfaction and well-being.
At our US sites, employees can be nominated by colleagues in various categories (e.g. “Brightening the day” or “Finding creative solutions“) as part of the “Stars Programme”. The nominations are made public, the aim being to promote employee appreciation.
